Jesus Christ
Sharing and learning the teachings of Jesus Christ is central to the church's public mission.
Truth & Grace offers a place of comfort, hope, and peace as we grow together in the grace and teaching of Jesus Christ.

“We invite you to become a part of our services and look forward to meeting you soon.”
The mission of Truth and Grace Fellowship is to establish and cultivate a church that will minister to the spiritual needs of the people…the Word of God.
We will make disciples through a variety of ministries for all age groups within the body of Christ.
We will provide an atmosphere where praise and worship of God and fellowship with believers are commonplace. Lastly, we will equip the people of God to be evangelists for Christ to a dying world.
Truth & Grace Fellowship began as a vision God placed in the heart of former pastor Michael D. West.

After being led by the Lord to begin a ministry, Pastor West spoke with his pastor, Elder Leon Stewart. He explained that he would be leaving to begin a new ministry, while taking care not to cause division within the church.
In April 1989, Truth & Grace was born. The congregation began in a room at the Oakland Park Hotel with approximately 20 members. Those early members included Assistant Pastor Elder Roosevelt Lambert; Mother Jones; Mother Alexander; Sister Rose West; Sister Mary Jackson and family; Elder Elvis Slayton and family; Elder Cecil and Sister Darlene Harris; Sister Joyce (Barnes) Hammond; and Sister Jean Blount and family.
After about a month at the hotel, the church learned of a small building at 1322 South Florissant whose pastor was relocating. The congregation met with the property owner, Attorney Timothy Higgins, and arranged to worship there on Sundays and during the evenings. Attorney Higgins also handled much of the church’s legal work. During this season, the Lord continued adding to the church.
As the congregation outgrew the building, it began searching for a larger place to worship. Truth & Grace fellowshipped with Pastor Rod Walker and Grace Bible Church and considered a merger, but the congregation voted not to merge and resumed its search.
Shortly afterward, Pastor Joe King shared news of a small congregation whose early-morning services ended around 10:00 AM and that was interested in renting its building. Truth & Grace met with Pastor Steve Griener, who welcomed the congregation with open arms.
The church worshiped there for a time while paying $350 per month in rent, and the congregation chose to remodel the sanctuary. Impressed by their faithfulness and care for the building, Pastor Griener made Truth & Grace co-owner of the property. A few years later, when Antioch’s church could no longer support its ministry, Pastor Griener generously turned the entire complex over to Truth & Grace. The church’s attorneys prepared the paperwork that gave Truth & Grace full ownership of the complex.
